Briefing on Public Prototyping Facility at National Design Centre
Because of overwhelming response, 10 seats have been added for the briefing.
SPRING Singapore and DesignSingapore Council are inviting all private company operators registered in Singapore to submit a proposal to operate an open access Public Prototyping Facility at the National Design Centre.
The objective of the facility is to offer an open access prototyping lab to increase design and innovation activities, by providing designers and the public with access to knowledge, tools, and equipment for prototyping.
Manufacturing start-ups face high barriers to entry and an open access facility offering tools and equipment for prototyping needs can help reduce such barriers.
The facility will also play a key role in encouraging entrepreneurship through the building on ideas and inventions. It also aims to promote interest in Design and Engineering.
SPRING will co-fund the setup by offering a reimbursement-basis grant to the shortlisted operator. The operator is required to adhere to the service standards, evaluation and funding requirements set forth by SPRING.
Interested applicants are invited to attend a briefing which will be held on 19 Feb 2014 at 2.30pm at the National Design Centre building, 111 Middle Road, Singapore 188969. Application forms will be issued at the briefing.
